Wensleydale Railway's Annual Community Rail and Heritage Transport Week-end

The Wensleydale Railway's annual Community Rail and Heritage Transport week-end takes place on September 18/19. For the second year running, there will be a free vintage bus connection between Northallerton and Leeming Bar stations on both days, courtesy of Grand Central. This support from the country’s leading open access train operator is very helpful in enabling passengers from the East Coast main line stations to reach the Wensleydale Railway's starting station for the journey to Redmire, on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park .
Other events along the line include a contemporary furniture exhibition at Tennants Auctioneers, a five minute walk from Leyburn station and on Sunday Sept 19 the Brian Redhead Memorial Train will depart Leeming Bar at 10.25 for Redmire - no need to book except groups of 11 or more. Special welcome for journalists!
