Our role
As a federal body ACoRP's role is to support the work of existing and new community rail partnerships and we offer assistance in developing their action plans and with project development. A key area of concern for many ACoRP members is developing links between the railway and complimentary forms of transport.

We also work towards developing examples of good practice in linking rural rail with local bus, community transport, cycling and walking initiatives, with the aim of providing seamless integrated transport. Community rail partnerships were featured positively in the Integrated Transport White Paper which said "Community rail partnerships have been instrumental in attracting more passengers to rural rail services and facilities".

Our aims
1.
The promotion of partnerships for the development of quality local rail services and facilities for the movement of passengers and goods, on existing and new routes.
2. The encouragement of awareness and usage of local rail services.
3. The linking of railways with sustainable local development along rail corridors, for the benefit of local communities, businesses, railway employees and visitors.
4. The development of sustainable local transport networks which integrate rail with all forms of transport.

Our objectives
1. To promote the concept of community rail partnerships and to encourage stronger links between the railway industry and local communities.

4. To encourage and disseminate examples of good practice.
